Fun Facts

Coming from Eugene, Oregon, I have always planned on moving to New York and I'm excited to finally live here as a student. I've studied French for four years and have recently begun learning Russian - certainly a challenge, but very worthwhile. In middle and high school I played the piano competitively, and after 12 years I enjoy practicing whenever I can. I love to read almost every genre and I also write political and fantasy stories. I enjoy traveling but I'm always glad to end up back in NY.

About Me

I am a sophomore at Fordham University majoring in History and International Studies with a minor in French. I was named to the Dean's List freshman year and currently serve as an assistant to an academic advisor for freshman English majors. When I graduate, I plan to pursue a Masters degree and hope to end up working with the United Nations or the Department of State. I'm an Eagle Scout with much experience teaching and leading, and I enjoy sharing my experience and enabling success.

Experience

Throughout high school, I tutored both formally and informally in subjects such as chemistry, biology, and French. I served as a teaching assistant in a chemistry class, performing experiments and explaining concepts. During my freshman year of college, I tutored General Chemistry I and served as a proofreader for surface grammar, content analysis, and fluidity of prose. Working with Frog Tutoring gives me an opportunity to share my experience and impact students

Approach

My mother was both a high school teacher and a college professor, and she instilled me with a love of teaching and guiding students. My tutoring approach begins with getting to know the student and pinpointing where they excel and where they struggle. Students learn best by playing to their strengths, and I can help them succeed by guiding them when they struggle and giving them the tools, such as study skills and self-motivation, to pursue success.
