Fun Facts

I have enjoyed the same things I have since I was a child. One of my favorite activities is to read graphic novels such as comic books about superheroes. I enjoy watching sports, documentaries, science fiction, and any type of movie that catches my eye. Archery is also a hobby of mine, I find it very relaxing and a great way to relieve stress. Other than that, I enjoy hanging out with friends and having a day full of laughter!

About Me

I am a senior at University of Arizona studying for my B.S. in Biochemistry. My long term goal is to become a pharmacist. I have a deep passion for knowledge, especially science, and believe that knowledge is power. This passion is what drives me to become a tucson">tutor and inspire students of the infinite knowledge that surrounds them every day.

I have tutored molecular and cellular biology (MCB181) at the University of Arizona for two semesters. The class has the largest amount of tucson">tutors and preceptors available out of all UofA science classes. I have completed the tucson">tutor training required to become a tucson">tutor for MCB181.

My tucson">tutoring approach starts with identifying the topic the student is struggling with. I then ask the student what he/she already knows or can tell about the topic. From there, I work with the student in piecing the topic together, leading the student to answers and discovery as opposed to simply telling the student the answers. I feel this also helps the student work on critical thinking analysis as well as independent thinking. I then let the student explain the topic back to me, as I feel this helps review material covered and show understanding. My goal is to have the student fully understand the topic and gain critical thinking experience before they walk out the door.
