Fun Facts

I grew up in India and move to the US at the age of 17 for college. I love hiking and soccer, and I try to engage in either of them on weekends. I am usually listening to classic rock and can recognize most of the songs by their guitar riffs. I am also an avid fan of all UCLA teams.

About Me

I finished my masters in Materials Engineering from UCLA. I graduated with a 3.90 GPA in my masters program. My goal is to research cutting-edge materials technology in the engineering industry. I have also worked as the Sponsorship Chair for the UCLA Formula SAE Racing team.

Coming from a family of teachers, I have always been eager to teach students. After my first year in college, I tutored 9th and 10th grade students in Math, Physics and Chemistry in India and taught them different approaches to solving mathematical problems. I found this experience so rewarding that I decided to mentor freshman engineering students in my department as a graduate student. I would like to use my skills to help students reach their career goals.

I adopted my teaching style from my parents, who were algebra and geometry teachers. I like to teach the basic concepts first, and then guide students through solving problems using different approaches, while increasing difficulty levels till they perfect the topic. To help them learn, I encourage them to keep trying and motivate them to practice solving as many questions as possible.
