Fun Facts

I am a fan of Disney and have been to every Disney park in the world including Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai. I love to travel and explore the world. My favorite place to travel is Phuket, Thailand, spending time at the beach. I also enjoy cooking, creative writing and spending time with my two dogs Jay and Jordan.

About Me

I completed my undergraduate degree in Communication in 2009. In 2011, I went to South Korea to teach English and travel. I returned to America in August of 2013 to begin my Masters degree in Communication Management. I have maintained a 3.5 GPA and have been inducted into Lambda Eta Pi, Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism’s honor society. I am apart of graduate student government, Annenberg Graduate Student Reps where I organize events for graduate students and serve as a liaison

I have had extensive teaching and tutoring experience. I taught English in Korea for nearly 3 years. I taught public school students in elementary school during the school day. After class, I would tutor the Korean teachers in intensive survival English and English conversation classes. I also taught at a private night school in South Korea, Kindergarten-11th grade. Some of the students had additional one on one tutoring sessions in English. I am currently a tutor for ‘at-risk’ student-athletes at USC. I help them stay organized, establish personalized learning strategies, as well as explain concepts from their college courses and assist in writing strategy.

I like to build a rapport with my students as it enhances the learning experience. One of the best approaches to learning that I have discovered in my experience is connecting educational concepts with student’s interests to make it easier to understand and apply information. In addition, gaining the larger concept in subjects and then filling in the details has been useful. Organization and detailed planning is another key approach to success with learning. In detailed planning, making smaller tasks to complete the larger task is helpful for successful time management on assignments.
