Music is my biggest passion. Anytime I am not doing homework, one might catch me singing to a variety of music generes, in my car, with hand gestures! I also try and read at least one book a month for pleasure. I grew up in a family of readers; there were books all over my house, in boxes, on shelves, and even in the kitchen. About Me

I am currently a second year law student studying Child and Family law, with a focus on education policy. I hope to one day work toward making sure that all children have the resources they need to succeed in our society, regardless of any geographic, economic or racial classifications. I spend a great majority of my time studying and learning about the law, so that I can use it effectively in working for kids.

I have been chicago">tutoring and teaching students since I was 15 years old. Most recently, I taught 9th graders in a summer program specializing in English, Grammar, and Literature at a local private school, but I have also worked extensively with inner city students and in a one on one settings with private families. In undergrad, I spent time developing programs that worked exclusively with students whose families were not native to the United States, and therefore struggled to grasp all the nuances of the English language.

I have always been a good student, but only because I have had good teachers to encourage me when I struggled. In my experience, those students who do not receive encouragement, even when they struggle, find school to be overwhelming, embarrassing and pointless. I hope to be a resource to students, allow them to voice their concerns about their challenges, where they feel they struggle, and what they believe they need from me to support them. I want students to feel as though I am their partner, not simply another adult that doesn't "get it".
