Fun Facts

I love music! I write and compose my own songs, and I am currently taking vocal lessons. I am hoping to perform original music in the near future. I like to be flexible in my songwriting genre style, but I would say that my staple is Pop/R&B and Pop/Rock. I also enjoy listening to all genres of music.

I also enjoy sports. My favorite teams are the Pacers, Raiders, and Colts. My favorite athletes are Tiger Woods and Reggie Miller.

My other favorite activities are learning, exercising, laughing

About Me

I try to be a positive, open-minded and friendly person to all people I meet. I value education and learning very much. I have a bachelor's degree in journalism, not only because I enjoy that particular field, but also because the journalism major has the broadest range of courses in its curriculum. I like to be well-rounded in my knowledge so that I can be a versatile and flexible person in life.

I have plenty of indianapolis">tutoring/teaching experience. From 2002-05, I taught tennis and life skills for the National Junior Tennis League (NJTL) to kids ages 6-18. I taught as many as 80 kids per day. I was fortunate to develop great relationships with the kids and their families. In fact, a number of parents asked me to give their child private lessons even after the NJTL curriculum was over. Also, while in college, I needed to work to pay my own way through school. However, I wanted my work to also be meaningful. I was fortunate to find that with America Reads. Here, I tutored elementary school children on english/literature. I tutored several children per day. When I look back on my life to this point, these were my two favorite jobs, if I can even call them that. They were such unbelievable rewarding experiences, and I am optimistic that Frog indianapolis">Tutoring will be no different!

I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking and positive energy. While I would never intentionally give an inaccurate assessment to a student, I certainly prefer to focus on his/her strengths and give positive feedback. This gives essential confidence to a student which I believe will give him/her the necessary motivation to succeed. Of course, we would work on the student's weaknesses, but again, I believe the student will be much more motivated to do so if they are given the proper positive energy and encouragement from me.
