Fun Facts

I love to travel. I am half Lebanese, and I always enjoyed visiting places in Europe, Central America, North Africa, and the Middle East. Someday, I would definitely like to visit places like the Far East, Australia, and New Zealand. I also enjoy all kinds of sports, but mostly basketball, and I also enjoy playing video games in my free time.

About Me

I am a recent boston-university">Boston University graduate (summa cum laude, GPA: 3.96) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Currently, I am taking a gap year while applying to medical school, and working on a research project at the Bouxsein Lab in the Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center. Ultimately, I plan on being a physician, but I am unsure about what I plan on specializing in.

I have plenty of experience boston">tutoring in the Engineering Resource Center in boston-university">Boston University, where I have worked both semesters of my junior year and the first semester of my senior year. At the ERC, I tutored all science and engineering courses that I had taken as an undergraduate. Additionally, I have experience boston">tutoring high school math, science, and SAT prep from volunteering at the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon and the Dar al-aytam orphanage in Beirut, Lebanon.

Through my experiences as a boston">tutor, I have learned about all the different ways students absorb and learn new material, and doing so has allowed me to adjust my boston">tutoring techniques accordingly. After briefly discussing the material with the student, I try and identify which parts of the material need the most clarification, and spending some time going over that portion (either by a mini-lecture or doing sample problems), I like to get some feedback from the student. Rather than directly providing answers, I try to guide students to the solutions so that it may be easier for them to approach new problems and understand the general concepts. Also, I always try to be persistent and encourage the student, through positive feedback, to make the whole learning process more comfortable.
