Fun Facts

I work for a company that makes catastrophe modeling software for corporations in the insurance industry writing small scale programs and scripts to support the quality assurance team. When I have free time to spend a day about Boston, I try to find a coffee mug to add to my collection and then discuss it with my sister, another mug collector. I'm also an avid puzzler and enjoy crosswords, sudoku, kenken, jigsaw, and logic puzzles. I also enjoy reading mystery, psychology, and police procedural

About Me

I graduated cum laude from boston-university">Boston University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Engineering where I did most of my coursework junior and senior year in algorithm development and computational biology. I've been in the software industry since graduating and earned my Master's degree in science/massachusetts/boston">Computer Science from BU in the Spring of 2019.

I started boston">tutoring in the boston">tutoring center of my college my freshman year at a suggestion from my Integral Calculus teacher. I have worked with various boston">tutoring services since then and before I started with Frog boston">tutoring and have found it to be an incredibly rewarding job. Helping to shape young minds, in my opinion, is one of the most important jobs in the world and I have an incredible respect for anyone who chooses a career in teaching. I'm just happy that I can do my part, as well, working part-time while I pursue my life's ambitions.

In my experiences, I have found that a strong knowledge of the subject can bring a student far but that an ability to transfer that knowledge in the one on one interactions that teachers are not able to participate in is also incredibly important. The boston">tutor/student relationship is unique in that specific strengths and weaknesses in a student can easily be identified and then a lesson plan can be specifically catered to that students needs. I feel that the most effective boston">tutoring starts here and finishes when weaknesses in a subject become strengths through hard work and decisive concentration in these areas.
