Fun Facts

I'm a big fan of movies and grew up on 90s action films, but I'm also a poet. As a former student of literature in both English and Spanish, I'm obviously a reader, but find myself captivated by narrative in a variety of forms. I enjoy cooking a great deal.

About Me

I'm a recent graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with bachelor degrees in English and Spanish. Furthermore, I participated in both the English Honors Program and Liberal Arts Honors. I was fortunate enough to gain admission to the UT Law School and along the way dealt with the LSAT. I've been on a long journey in the educational system and have learned a lot about myself and approaches to different courses along the way.

I've functioned as a austin">tutor since high school and have always been willing to assist my classmates. I've dealt with students transitioning to English from other languages (particularly in regards to reading) and struggled myself with reading in elementary school due to exotropia. I understand that frustration mounts and that under stress a situation can seem impossible. However, there is hope, and by whittling away at a subject, eventually a student will make massive strides where before they felt defeated.

I believe that each student is different, and that the difficulties they face in a subject can become a very personal frustration. While I was studying for the LSAT, I discovered that the emotional state of the student in regards to the subject and his or her ability to progress in that subject were deeply related. I believe in empowering a student to advance in a subject under guidance and the instruction of a method while alleviating his or her frustration. Simply put, I think improving the student's attitude can be integral to enabling them to conquer a subject, and the two tend to come hand in hand.
