I am a Washington Redskins fan and a sports fanatic! I like to read and go to the movies. I really enjoy having fun and being around people...I am a definite people person! I love pizza, tacos, and chocolate. I have a passion for serving and I love children.

About Me

I am currently a junior studying print journalism and English at Howard University. I am from Richmond, Virginia, but have made frequent trips to the DC area in my childhood. I have always had a passion for serving others, especially children, because I believe that as a person who has been blessed by others, I, in turn, should pay it forward and bless others.

I began washington-dc">tutoring my younger brothers in all subjects. This was my first washington-dc">tutoring experience. After that I was on the other side of this process, receiving washington-dc">tutoring for several subjects in middle school. I began washington-dc">tutoring through initiatives at my high school, Open High, in Richmond, Virginia in 2007. While there, I taught several "classes" and specialized in subjects like English, History, and Statistics. Currently I serve as President of Howard University's chapter of America's Promise Alliance, a mentoring organization that offers washington-dc">tutoring and educational advancement for youth ages four-eleven in all major academic subjects.

My washington-dc">tutoring approach is one that is specific to each child I work with. I think one on one washington-dc">tutoring helps to foster a solid relationship between myself and my clients. I am very big on positive reinforcement because I think this encourages the client to give his or her best when they can anticipate random rewards for their efforts. I tend to base my approach off of what my clients need, so it is difficult to describe in detail; however, once I begin a washington-dc">tutor-client relationship, I am always sure to build a positive and lasting relationship with my clients so that my approach can be communicated to each one personally.
