Fun Facts

My parents are farmers. I guess from time to time I am too. My hobbies include snowboarding, running (well, jogging), climbing mountains, and exploring different religious traditions, but mostly I read a lot. I’ll go on a reading binge for several weeks and then stop to catch up on all of the TV shows I missed. I do thirty push-ups and fifty sit-ups everyday. I also eat a poached egg and toast every morning for breakfast. I coach high school volleyball and softball and have never been kick

About Me

I have a Bachelors degree in English and Religious Studies from the University of California Davis and just recently completed my Masters degree in Religion from Claremont Graduate University. I absolutely love learning and totally geek out about whatever I study, right now it’s American history and politics. I’m currently hoping to avoid the financial quagmire that is a PhD in American History by becoming a high school teacher.

I have been working with high school students steadily since I was a high school student myself. I have years of experience as a coach, a teacher, a mountain guide, and a mentor. Most recently I have worked as an SAT prep washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor. I really enjoy the one-on-one work of washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring because there is almost always such noticeable improvement. I loved watching my students scores jump, sometimes by over 200 points.

I bring my infectious passion for learning and a decade of coaching experience to every washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring session. I washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor more as a coach than as a teacher. Rather than viewing myself as the giver of knowledge, I see myself as partnering with students to achieve a common goal. I am thus very committed to my students and highly invested in their success. It is always my goal for students to take ownership over their education and extend that success beyond the limits of washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring.
