Fun Facts
I became a big Elvis Presley fan in 6th grade after doing a book report on him. For extra credit, I dressed up in all black leather, greased my hair back and brought in a guitar to really sell my presentation. It felt right and I've listened ever since. Let's see, I lived in Copenhagen, Denmark for a year and a half working for an international school. I was also on Good Morning America for a viral video my friend's and I made, re-creating the 'Friends' TV show intro in our university's fountain
About Me
I am a commercial film director and editor. I graduated from Elon University in North Carolina with a degree in Media Arts and Entertainment. I had a 3.7 GPA and have always excelled in reading and writing. I studied psychology in undergrad and while studying abroad in Denmark during school, though I did not end up majoring/minoring in it. I have an older sister who is a physical therapist and a younger brother who is an investment banker; I was always the artistic/lingual one of the gang.
Experience
I had the opportunity to live and work in Copenhagen, Denmark, and, while there, tutored a 12 year old Danish boy in English for the year I was a resident. We built a strong bond over our time together, highlighting (for me) the importance not only of repeated practice but of the emotional element of the relationship. I'm currently employed with another tutoring service in LA and work with a 5th grader twice a week on language and reading comprehension.
Approach
As a filmmaker, I do a lot of documentary work, and have developed a honed ability to talk with, listen, and understand people; as well as a growing capacity to relay information through storytelling and narratives. Skills I hope to apply with future students. Sometimes it takes the catalyst of a particularly connective teacher or an engaged parent to spur that curiosity and I think that’d be my role as a tutor.

I studied Psychology extensively in college, in North Carolina at Elon University as well as in Copenhagen Denmark while studying abroad. I took and recieved a 5 on the AP Psychology test in high school and also continue to reach Psychology books to this day for fun and enjoyment.

I've always loved History. I took and passed AP U.S. History, AP World History, and AP Government and Politics in high school and really enjoyed them. I'm a documentary filmmaker and enjoy teaching through narratives and stories, this makes teaching History quite fun and engaging!

I took and passed multiple AP's in high school including AP English Literature and Composition and AP English Language and Composition. I also studied creative writing in college.

I took and passed AP Biology in high school and have always been interested and up-to-date on scientific news and concepts.
