I have collection of monkey memorabilia because they are my favorite animal and my little brother gets me one every time he travels. I also love the beautiful nature Colorado has to offer. I enjoy hiking and taking nature walks.

About Me

I love the sciences! Human anatomy and mechanisms are very interesting to me. This is why I majored in Human Biology major and I will be going to Physicians Assistant school in May. I have done three internships at Children’s Hospital Colorado, and I enjoyed them so much I plan to return to Children’s after graduate school.

Since beginning college I have formed study groups in each of my classes. I found that for subjects such as biology, biochemistry, and anatomy I was often explaining concepts to my peers. This experience really helped me when I began to aurora">tutor a student in College Biology 1 & 2 and in bone anatomy. I tutored her for three months as she prepared to start a job selling medical supplies. After that aurora">tutoring session was complete I began helping two boys (4th and 6th grade) with their homework completion. I found that one of the boys loved math and would always fall behind in the other subject. We worked on catching him up on past due assignments and approaching the other subjects in new ways. Although I was only able to work with these boys for a month we made great progress. I really enjoyed seeing how far they came in such a short period. Lastly, I provide constant support for my younger brother who is now in the 5th grade. I have helped him with his homework and projects since preschool. Two years ago he began a gifted and talented program on an online school, so my support and involvement has increased.

I have noticed that everyone learns and studies in a different way. Students can be visual, aural, kinesthetic, and/or reading/writing learners. I believe that understanding the type of learner a student is crucial to helping them succeed. PowerPoint, white boards with many colors of markers, and flashcards are just a few things I use to help student learn and study material. I have found that the more senses a student is able to use when going over materi
