Fun Facts

I was a competive timbersports athlete for Colorado State University and was the 2010 western underhand chopping champion. Additionally, I was third in the west in the single-buck sawing event.

About Me

Just like every one has different personalities and experiences, I have a variety of denver">tutoring methods depending on the person and their experiences. As a suit or dress is tailored to the indivudual, I alter my teaching style to fit the student. With this philosophy, getting to know the student, where they come from, and the events that have brought them there becomes extremely important in tailoring their personal denver">tutoring plan.

Experience

Thus, developing a rapport and getting to know the student becomes the most important aspect of any denver">tutoring relationship. Just as I get to know the student, it is also very important that the student gets to know me. The relationship goes both ways, and I feel that the better the student knows me the more comfortable and capable the students becomes. A mutual comfort and knowledge of each other creates an acedemic atmosphere of understanding where there are no stupid questions. All in all, the better the student and I know each other, the more affective the denver">tutoring relationship. I can then tailor my techniques to fit the student and the student can be comfortable enough to express their needs and questions. Two of my life's passions are teaching and helping others:

Approach

These two loves have led me to many incredible opportunities. From eighth grade through high school, every summer I'd travel to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in South Dakota to work on community service projects and teach cultural enrichment courses to my peer age group. I learned tons about myself and others, and first began to tune my social and teaching skills.

With an instilled passion for others planted on the reservation, I continued teaching through Jefferson County Schools' Outdoor Education Lab Schools, otherwise known to sixth grade students as Outdoor Lab. Three seperate semesters my junior and senior years, I spent a week in high country cabins teaching sixth graders Colorado natural history, forestry, biology, and social/life
