Fun Facts

I am a self taught professional makeup artist and have worked professionally since I was 13 years old. I actually did the makeup for my first bridal party when I was only 13. I have always loved the arts and literature in particular. Throughout my schooling, my teachers have often suggested that I pursue writing full time, but my greater passion is in healthcare and medicine. I love reading and writing poetry and finding deeper meanings in all forms of literary works.

About Me

I am currently completing my Master's in Bioethics at Columbia University, remotely due to the pandemic. Before that, I received my Bachelors in English Literature with a minor in Biology at Boston University. One of my goals is to go to medical school and become a dermatologist. However, I feel compelled to teach and help people at different stages of their educational journeys find success and motivation through mentorship.

Experience

As I have earned a literature degree from a top institution and am currently in the process of publishing very highly academic articles as a bioethics student at Columbia University, I feel very confident in my ability to counsel and teach those students at both the beginner and more advanced levels academically in both English and Biology. I was a biology "learning assistant" at Boston University and have experience teaching biology at the college level, but I can surely teach younger students.

Approach

In both English Literature and Biology I have found that many students struggle to look beyond the obvious meanings or the complexity of the biological processes that they are tasked to understand. I believe that in helping students ask the right questions about the subject laid before them, that they will be more prepared to find not only the right answers, but derive a deeper understanding and appreciation for these subjects and any subject they pursue going forward.
