Fun Facts

Something that surprises many people is that I spent seven of my childhood years in Hong Kong. My mother ran a school for Nepali refugees, so I got lots of experience as a multicultural student. I have visited Thailand, Romania, and Mexico for volunteer trips. I absolutely love meeting new people and learning what makes them unique - it's sort of my hobby! Next country on my bucket list is South Korea - I've been studying the language my hardest!

About Me

I am a freshman science/louisiana/lafayette">computer science major at the University of Louisiana. My concentration is in cloud computing, with a minor in psychology. I am also proud to be part of the university's honors program. I hope to finish my bachelor's at Seoultech University in South Korea starting in 2022, and continue to gain a master's in Artificial Intelligence afterward. I want to one day help revolutionize the education system with Big Data and AI.

Experience

I have 3 years' experience in web development and design. I enjoy web dev because it's always evolving and gives me chances to learn. I also have 1 years' experience as a Data Analyst for Mistras, Inc. This job required me to meet deadlines, be detail-oriented, and communicate effectively.

I have been a volunteer tutor for:
* Middle schoolers in Python
* High schoolers in CS Principles and Book Studies
* College students in ESL Vocab/Pronunciation, Calc 1, and Electrical Engineering

Approach

As a web dev, I highly value the ability to research and learn concepts by understanding, not memorization. I use questions to gauge students' understanding, then give problems designed to teach new concepts, and we work through them together. This could involve reading textbooks and other resources, visualizing or abstracting, and testing. This not only helps them retain the information but gives a sense of accomplishment and prepares them for the workforce in today's information age.
