Fun Facts

When not in the lab or perusing through my extensive personal chemistry library, I enjoy playing duplicate bridge and tropical fish. Keeping and breeding tropical fish opened up my eyes to the complexities of aquatic chemistry. More chemistry occurs in a home aquarium than at BASF!

About Me

My tutoring experience started when I was an ‘A’ biology and chemistry student at County College of Morris and was hired to work at the College’s Science Resource Center as a peer tutor. Subsequently I won the CRC Press Chemistry Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement in chemistry, graduated from the College with an A.S. in chemistry, and continued my education at Montclair State University, where I earned a B.S. in biochemistry.

For those high school students planning on taking the AP Chemistry Exam and/or the SAT II Subject Test in Chemistry administered by the College Board, I offer extensive preparation on a very wide breadth of content. In addition, for those of you who are interested in becoming a chemistry teacher in New Jersey, I also offer tutoring in the Chemistry: Content Knowledge Praxis Test (5245) required by the State of New Jersey Department of Education.

Chemistry and biology need not be esoteric, exotic hot-house plants!

Experience

As a private chemistry tutor, I have been assisting both high school and college students since 2008, when I was a first year chemistry student. My tutoring experience quickly expanded to include the AP Chemistry Exam and the SAT II Subject Test in Chemistry administered by the College Board. I also offer tutoring in the Chemistry: Content Knowledge Praxis Test (5245) required by the State of New Jersey Department of Education.

Approach

Helping students to understand, master, and succeed in chemistry and biology is something that I find personally rewarding, and the accolades that I've received from my students over the past ten years have been highly gratifying. Even the most complex material is presented in a simple, easy-to-understand manner, and I am pleased to offer students my supplemental study materials on a variety of topics to help them succeed.
