About Me

I have an M.A. in English Literature from American University. I have varied interests which include cooking, writing, yoga, travelling, languages, movies, and current events. I love learning, and particularly enjoy gleaning knowledge from other people and cultures.

I tutored college-age students in both English and Latin as an undergraduate. During my graduate years, I taught keyboarding and career success skills to adults.

Every student has different personality and different needs. It is essential that I assess what kind of person the student is and how best I can help him. My goal is not to be the student's friend, but a mentor - i.e. someone who instructs and guides in a professional and caring manner. I also want to help him to rise above his current level of knowledge and experience. Ultimately, I want him to outperform me - when the student has bested me, then I have done my job well.
