Fun Facts

Hi! My name is Aranya. Some fun facts about me - I'm a HUGE music nerd. You can always catch me looking for new music and recommending songs to my friends. I love live music and concerts too. I adore watching films, and I'm trying to work my way through a 'Best Movies of All Time list!

About Me

I graduated from Boston University in 2019 with a dual degree in English and Film/TV. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.89. I currently work in television, but my passion is helping people understand the English language and sharpen their essay-writing skills. I hope to become a TV Producer one day, and I also have a passion for screenwriting.

Experience

As an English major, I consistently peer-edited papers for fellow students, as well as resume-edited, and sharpened personal essays + cover letters. To this day, I still offer help to friends and family with similar tasks. In high school, I wrote for the student newspaper, and I continued writing in college. I expanded my range by writing scripts, essays, short skits, and plays as part of my college's curriculum. Additionally, I have a parent who is an English teacher, and learned tons from her!

Approach

As a child, I struggled with attention issues. I understand how frustrating it is to sit down and try to do your homework but find yourself unfocused or unable to motivate. While tutoring, I use a conversation-based approach to helping children focus on the task at hand. I'm an expert in making big tasks seem small, + not only help students with their homework but teach them coping skills to make sure they meet deadlines and submit quality work.
