Fun Facts

English is my third language. Nature is my fourth (well, if we don't count the language of science). You will find me out there riding one of my bikes (road or mountain bike), swimming, running, hiking whenever the weather cooperates, and sometimes even when it doesn't.

About Me

Having worked in the Engineering/Technology field, I have decided to get a degree in Electrical Engineering. My real life experience helps tremendously when it comes to address issues: first you want to understand the problem and the concepts around it, then build a strategy and use your best tools to solve them in a most efficient way possible.

Science and technology were always my passion. Upon starting college, I have immediately participated in study groups, recognizing the importance of helping students with less academic experience or difficulties with a given subject. Since then I have been austin">tutoring students for years and currently work for a local college as a Mathematics and Physics austin">tutor while continuing my studies.

In my experience, most difficulties arise from the student not fully understanding a certain concept, yet being forced to move forward full speed because of the work load. This will reduce studying to visual memorization of formulas and problems, switching into survival mode with the sole purpose of passing tests. It's easy to see why this method is not sustainable in the long run.
I always encourage the student to take a step back and use various methods to visualize, practice and understand core concepts before jumping into problem solving. This way they develop a solid foundation necessary for the entire length of the college years, and even beyond: critical thinking, thinking outside the box and efficient problem solving.
