About Me

My name is Leroy and I am 28 years old. I have a degree in mathematics and physics from the University of Texas and I have been austin">tutoring since 2007. I have tutored a wide variety of students of all ages and all math classes. For three years during college, I specialized in austin">tutoring adult learners, students over the age of 28 who decide to attend college again. I have the most experience with college and high school students. I specifically enjoy austin">tutoring Calculus as it is definitely my favorite subject. In my spare time, I also write math and physics problems for test prep.

Experience

I have 11 years experience austin">tutoring various subjects using numerous styles. I have tutored elementary school students in introduction to arithmetic as well as advanced math students in upper division math courses. I have been with Frog austin">Tutoring since 2013 and it has definitely given me the opportunity to help students succeed with their academics.

Approach

It is my personal opinion that you can't learn math without first making mistakes. It is necessary to realize where you went wrong and correct it. This is my approach. I allow students to do problems and when a mistake is made, I explain why that it is wrong. I try not to give the correct answer right away because I want the students to determine the answer on their own. I ask questions about why they are doing steps to make sure they understand why. Most of the time, people get in the habit of
