Fun Facts

Born and raised in the Caribbean island of Jamaica, I am the first in my family to get an undergraduate degree outside of my home country. I also have a SERIOUS passion for music! If I am not involved in any engineering activity, you'll find me in piano/drum practice, or listening to music. I am also an advocate for personal development outside of the classroom; meditation and reading substantial material are very beneficial.

About Me

I graduated with a Bachelors' in Civil Engineering from Howard University in May 2016. My overall GPA was 3.64 (magna cum laude). I served as a Resident Assistant during my sophomore and junior year, as well as both treasurer for my engineering honor society and vice-captain of the Howard University Steel Bridge Team in my senior year. In addition, I worked as a Business Technology Analyst at Deloitte after graduation, and have plans to explore other careers/attend graduate school very soon.

Experience

During my high school in Jamaica, I had the opportunity to tutor students in Geography in preparation for the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate (CSEC) examinations. I placed 4th in my school in the previous year, and seized the fortuity to assist the incoming 11th graders. In addition, I assisted fellow classmates in tutoring Chemistry to the 11th grade students preparing for that exam. Working with Frog Tutoring will allow me to serve in my best capacity based on my past experience.

Approach

Before the session, I would plan sufficiently to help students in their weak area(s). During the tutoring sessions, I would allow the student to explain concepts in their own words to demonstrate their understanding. I intend to cross-reference various online references to strengthen the comprehension level of the pupil. In addition, I make an effort to simplify a concept as best as possible. Also, practices such as proper sleep and healthy eating are VERY crucial for peak performance.
