Fun Facts

I am the eldest of 6, and also the only girl in my family. I'm currently taking Japanese classes, and hope to be able to live in Japan someday! I have two pet gerbils. I plan to join the Peace Corps after college.

About Me

I was born in Colombia, South America, so I'm a native Spanish speaker. Since I've lived in Charlotte on and off since I was 9, I happily call Charlotte my hometown. I'm a rising senior at queens-university-of-charlotte">Queens University of Charlotte, and I plan to double major in Business and Biochemistry with a concentration in Pre-Medicine.

Experience

I've been charlotte">tutoring others kids since I was in 5th grade. I have worked with advanced children, high risk children, children with dyslexia, and kids of all ages. I used to be a teacher's assistant for Pre-Kindergardners at a high risk foundation. I'm currently a teacher's assistant at Myers Park Traditional, thus I help 4th and 5th graders on a weekly basis. During the last year, I've also been charlotte">tutoring high school students on Spanish, English, Math, and Chemistry.

Approach

I'm a charlotte">tutor, but I've also been tutored, so I know what it is like to be on both sides of the fence. Being a charlotte">tutor is more than just being the person that reinforces information, but a person the tutee can look up to and seek advice from. I will first try to establish a relationship with my tutees to find out at what level they are in their course, how their brain works, what their work method is, and how they learn. Afterwards, I will try to get them organized.
