I speak intermediate conversation Chinese (my wife is a native Chinese speaker), I have lived in 4 countries and have traveled to 27. I once worked as a music producer for a multimedia company, producing around 70 songs of many different genres. Jazz fusion is my favorite genre, and I love doing improv drums and keys.

About Me

Hi! My name is Kevin. I'm from Florida, am 27 years old, and have a B.Sc in Mathematics from UCF. I love teaching, music, mathematics, traveling, and gardening. I am also a husband and a father. I am an outgoing and friendly person, respectful of different cultures and love meeting different people.

Experience

I have worked professionally as a math tutor in the past, and have worked mathematics-related jobs (programming, marketing data analysis and optimization, etc.). Informally, I have taught many student music while in school, and have help many friends and family members with their math classes. I come from a large family of teachers and we all love teaching!

Approach

For math, I teach with intuitive concepts first. This builds a solid foundation that many students are missing due to unclear teachers are teachers students are unable to talk 1-on-1 with. As often as possible, I try to relate math problems to real life and how they are being used in society so people can actually understand the usefulness in mathematics to our society. I also teach very visually, as math cannot be only discussed verbally.
