Fun Facts

I love music and dance-- especially tap dance! Pets have been constant companions in my life, and I have a four year old tuxedo cat, Molly. When I get the chance, I create sweaters, scarves, and hats with crochet.

About Me

I am a long-time educator, enjoying substitute teaching and tutoring part-time. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master's degree in Teaching, and I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Political Science from the University of Michigan- Dearborn.

Experience

I started teaching professionally in 2007, but I have been an educator from a very early age, starting when I was asked to help another student in algebra in the 8th grade! I am gifted in explaining difficult concepts in simple terms and helping people overcome fear and anxiety about learning deficits. I can help you build skills and understand and apply your learning style.

Approach

Because of my experience as a college tutor in the special needs support counseling department, I approach learning from a growth mindset, which means that everyone is capable of learning new things. When you realize that it is possible to learn anything, with the right attitude and planning, it removes fear and doubts from the process. I focus on your unique strengths and talents to help you discover ways to apply those gifts to learning new things.
