I love to read and learn new things. Just for the fun of it I have taken every dance class you can think of. I enjoy sports and staying in shape. My favorite sport is basketball but any sport is fun to watch or play.

About Me

I recently graduated from UNM with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. In addition to my studies I conducted cancer research that was used as my senior thesis and earned Magna Cum Laude departmental honors. Since graduation I have been accepted to UNM College of Pharmacy. My ultimate goal is to become a Pharmaceutical Researcher.

Coming from a small town with not many things to do, I have always tried to keep myself occupied with volunteer activities. I have experience albuquerque">tutoring all levels of students. In high school I was a teacher aide/albuquerque">tutor for Pre-Calculus classes. I have served as a mentor for Girl Scouts teaching them different concepts. Being a part of a co-ed Honor Fraternity at UNM, I have tutored my friends and peers in both Biology and Chemistry courses. Lastly, through the Hispanic Youth Symposium I have had the opportunity to mentor and encourage high school students to continue their education.

From personal experience I understand that every student has a unique learning style and this style can even differ depending on the subject at hand. As a albuquerque">tutor, I take the time to develop a customized approach to teach/review the material. I help the student develop stronger organization, cognition, and retention skills to maximize their time efficiently.It is crucial for students to feel comfortable. I give the student positive encouragement and the confidence they need to catch them up in a class or review for a big test coming up.
