Fun Facts

While an undergraduate at OSU, I was in the Ohio State University Marching Band, playing the mellophone. I had played piano since I was about 7 and started playing the saxophone in 6th grade, but since the OSUMB only has brass instruments, I learned to play the mellophone my freshman year of college and tried out over the summer. I made the band on my first attempt, and it was an amazing experience.

About Me

I was an English major at OSU, receiving my BA in English (Magna Cum Laude, with Honors in Liberal Arts) in 1998. My cumulative undergraduate grade point was 3.639. After graduation, I worked for many years as a Disability Claims Adjudicator, and most recently as a Quality Improvement Analyst for Medco Health Solutions in dublin">Dublin. I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in nursing, so I took the GRE and several prerequisite science course (receiving A's in all of them) and was accepted for the Graduate Entry program at OSU's College of Nursing. This accelerated graduate program is three years long and I will receive my Master's of Science in Nursing and become licensed as an RN and then as an advanced practice nurse (Nurse Practitioner). I am currently specializing in Nursing Administration but will likely add Adult Psychiatric to my specialty track due to my interest in this field of nursing. I started the Grad Entry program this last June and have a 4.0 grade point.

Throughout my undergraduate and graduate careers, I have frequently tutored fellow students as I learned that I have an affinity for helping others learn. I have been approached by professors to albuquerque">tutor students who are struggling in a specific class and provide them with the study skills necessary to succeed, and I have had some great experiences in this regard. Professors and students that I have tutored have complimented me on my ability to work with them to achieve their potential.

I love working with others to realize their true potential by identifying their strengths and determining how they can use these to their advantage in order to overcome any areas in which they are less confident. I am a firm believer that confidence is the key to success. I am also an advocate of organization and preparation, because this allows the student to focus on the material more easily and study more effectively.
