Fun Facts

I have great interest in Mock Trial and public speaking; I participated in a form of Mock Trial as a high school freshman, trained freshman in it the subsequent 3 years of my time in high school, and am now on my University's Mock Trial Team. I love to read and enjoy dancing as well. I also enjoy drama, and have both acted in and directed numerous plays.

About Me

I attend the University of Texas at Austin and am intending to declare a philosophy major. I want to one day attend law school and practice law as either a criminal prosecutor or as an attorney in constitutional law. I am a freshman, so I do not have conclusive grades yet, but I am currently at a 4.0 general GPA. I graduated high school with my diploma and also an International Baccalaureate Diploma as a recognized AP Scholar.

I have never formally tutored, though I have often been asked by friends and peers for help, be it in explaining subject matter to them, or reviewing a paper. I have expressed some skill in it, which made me decide austin">tutoring would likely be an appropriate endeavor for me. However, though it was not strictly academic, I do have experience in "teaching" in a sense, in that I trained freshmen in Mock Trial for three years.

The best thing about my austin">tutoring approach is that is it not set in stone. What I learned from coaching Mock Trial is that everyone learns not just at different speeds, but in different ways. Because of this, my austin">tutoring approach is personalized: I begin with asking what the person needs help with, then asking some questions to gauge how they best learn, and adjusting my approach accordingly. This means that if they need an active, creative approach, I can deliver that, and if they need a more conventional, I-instruct-they-absorb approach, I can provide that as well.
