Fun Facts

I enjoy motorcycles, camping, boating, the beach, and fishing. I would like to learn how to sail and deep sea fish. I went to college later in life and I am grateful, as I did not have the discipline right out of high school. It was the greatest and most rewarding experience of my life. Most importantly, I love math, science, and my day job.

About Me

I attended the University of Missouri-Rolla, later changed to Missouri University of Science & Technology. I have 3 degrees: A.S. in Pre-Engineering, B.S. in Civil Engineering, and a M.S. in Civil Engineering. The GPA's, respectively, are: 3.3, 2.8, and 3.3. I am a member of Chi Epsilon, the national civil engineering honor society in the United States. I currently hold a full time position as a Civil Engineer II for a local engineering firm. During my sophomore year in college, I tutored pre-college algebra, college algebra, chemistry, and physics for non-engineering students. It was a pleasure getting to know my fellow students and, it was even more rewarding when they received a passing grade on homework and exams. I spent approximately 5 to 10 hours a week tutoring and working for the Student Success Center. In addition, I currently home school my children, ensuring they fully and completely understand the work they are assigned, while successfully completing the work they are assigned. Working for Frog Tutoring will provide me the opportunity to have an additional impact on even more lives of students that require extracurricular academic assistance.

There is no shame in needing additional attention from a tutor to have a better understanding of a subject. In fact, I too needed tutoring in college. There were times when I wondered if I was even going to pass some of my classes. However, through the understanding and patience of my instructors and tutors, I was able to succeed. I too will have the same understanding and patience for the students I tutor. I will go out of my way to help them to come to an accurate knowledge and understanding of the subject they are struggling with, by doing what ever it takes for as long as it takes the student to comprehend and succeed. I will provide open communication and encouragement for the students to gain trust and confidence in themselv
