Fun Facts
After I finished my Masters degree, I spent most of the next 20 years overseas living in 8 different countries outside the US in Europe and Africa. Nowadays I travel for pleasure, and spend my spare time cycling.
About Me
I spent 13 years as a diplomat in the US Foreign Service, then the next 14 year managing stock market portfolios for international clients. I settled on education as a third career not long ago and love it!
Experience
I completed BA and MALD degrees in International Relations at Brown University and Tufts University. The curriculum focused heavily on political science and history. During my State Department career, I polished my French and also learned Croatian,both of which I used in my overseas postings. I have traveled widely in Europe and parts of Africa and the Indian Ocean. Today I am settled in Arlington, VA where I am an instructor in graduate-level international affairs courses and a tutor.
Approach
My approach is simple - I don't lecture students, and I don't do their work for them. I teach them how to do the work themselves to get the best grades they can, based on their ability and hard work. I am there to fill in the gaps and help them down the road to understanding the material at their learning level.
