Fun Facts

I love music and singing. Close seconds to this, are my love for food and compassion for others. In tutoring, the former translates to the option of finding rhythmic statements that can help to recall important terms or relationships; whereas the latter can lead to the use of many food-science metaphors and a deep interest in seeing clients succeed with accuracy, efficiency, and confidence.

About Me

I have a B.A in Physics and Sociology at Bryn Mawr College. My present goal is to find (and enter) a great PhD program in materials science engineering after graduation. My ultimate hope is to become a successful patent scientist.

Experience

As a peer and a family friend, I've had the opportunity to tutor high school students through SAT tests and required math courses, and to tutor nontraditional adult students through required math courses. As a professional, I have had the opportunity to tutor high school juniors and seniors through the recent SAT, and to develop lesson plans to support the education of fourth and fifth graders. I am lucky to have seen improvement in those that I've worked with.

Approach

As a tutor, I strive to break down material into understandable bits. I do my best to teach clients to approach questions or prompts efficiently while also building a general framework of the subject matter that can then be applied to more specific cases and scenarios.
