Fun Facts

I am an outgoing person and always have a smile on my face and enjoy making people laugh. I enjoy being outside and relaxing in the sun with my friends. My friends and family call me panda and I have over 100 panda items in my house. I have lived in over 10 different places throughout my life, I have settled down with my husband in Chicago. We have one cat named Wrigley.

About Me

I graduated with my masters in education/illinois/chicago">Special education in August 2012 from chicago">University of Illinois at Chicago. I have have always wanted to help students work to their fullest potential. Obtaining my masters allowed me to gain more knowledge of way to best assist all students. My ultimate goal is to go back to get my PHD in education/illinois/chicago">special education, focusing on behavior disorders and study skills. I believe every student demonstrates the ability to learn it is my job to implement lesson so they grasp the concepts.

When I was in high school I tutored elementary students in reading and math. During my undergrad I tutored part time at local school for volunteer hours. I enjoyed helping students reach their full potential.

When I was in elementary school I struggled with reading. My 3rd grade teacher tutored me and taught me strategies for reading that I still use to this day. I knew after that I wanted to help students reach their fullest potential. I know all students are capable of learning, however each child learns in different ways. I bring many different ways of learning ranging from hands on, listening activities, and interactive. It is my job for them to learn the concept and generalize it into all areas of their life. My favorite quote that I model my teaching and chicago">tutoring off of is "Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn"
