I am the father of 2 college students and a high school student.

About Me

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from East Tennessee State University, with a concentration in literature. I’ve continued my stuffy of Literature since graduating, including online classes from Dartmouth and Harvard.

I practiced law for 20 years. I graduated the University of Tennessee College of Law with honors. From January 2007 through December 2013, I was 1 of 12 Assistant Law Examiners for the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners. As such, I wrote essay questions for each Bar Exam and then graded the essay responses. I worked along with the other Assistant Law Examiners to offer suggestions regarding every essay question for each exam, along with expected responses and how to assign points. What can offer that others might not is the insight I have as a former bar examiner. In addition to learning the law, you also need to learn how to actually pass the exam.

In addition to my bar examiner experience, I have been adjunct faculty for a law school's bar success program, and I have tutored for major commercial bar prep companies.

Although my methods are tailored to the individual's needs, I have developed what I believe to be the most effective strategies for improved performance on the MBE, essays, and performance tests.
