Fun Facts

I am most passionate about becoming a teacher which I hope to start doing either this Fall or the next. I hope to teach 7th or 8th grade English. In my free time, I enjoy going on hikes and playing with my dogs. My educational goals for this summer is to start the Rosetta Stone program in order to learn Spanish.

About Me

I am a hard worker and love to set goals for myself. I am 22 years old and a soon to be graduate from the University of New Mexico. I am excited to graduate but I am also extremely excited to start the Masters in Secondary Education program also at UNM. I intend on starting my teaching career at a middle school level and work my way up to the high school level and eventually, I hope to be a Principal.

Although I have minimal albuquerque">tutoring experience, I currently work as a substitute for Rio Rancho Public Schools. In the classroom I was often needed to help the students with a wide range of subjects, depending on the type of class I was in for the day. I am always glad to help students understand subjects in different ways so that they understand them. I would easily be able to apply the skills that I have gained in my position of substitute teaching as well as what I have learned while taking courses for the College of Education at UNM.

In order to have successful students, I would use persistence and consistency. In high school, I was always the ones to help my friends understand their material better. I love to be the one to help someone understand a subject better. I like to think of different ways to teach them in order to help them understand the material better. In order to help them understand subjects better, I would need to be persistent even when the student is completely frustrated and would also need to be consistent with the albuquerque">tutoring sessions.
