Fun Facts

I am an Irish Step Dancer! I competitively danced for 10 years, and then went on to teaching it! It was such a great time. I try to ski, even though I am not the best at it, I hope to be on day.My favorite food is all things sweet - Candy, Cake, Ice Cream, you name it! One day, I do hope to learn how to knit - I think. it would be a cool hobby to take up, as well as make some awesome hats for those New England winters!

About Me

Hello! My name is Melissa McNulty and I am a middle school math teacher. I LOVE math! It is my mission to make math fun, hands on, and as exciting as can be. Math is such a beautiful subject, and I want to share all I know with you! I have my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Bridgewater State University and am hoping to attend Bridgewater State University to earn my Masters in. Art of Teaching Mathematics.

Experience

I have been tutoring both in and out of school for the past couple of years. I ran the After-School Math tutoring at the school I work at, as well as participated in the Summer Tutoring Program. I worked at Sylvan In-Home Tutoring where I would arrive to the students house and tutor there! I have experience with Study Island, Moby Max, Illustrative Math, Khan Academy, and Common Core. I am certified in Massachusetts for both the Elementary Level and Middle School Level Mathematics

Approach

Math is a difficult concept, and I am here to make it easy! With my fun and exciting teaching style, I make math more enjoyable. Through online escape rooms, to hands on learning, I feel the best way to really understand - is visually. I try my best with each lesson and topic to make sure there are some hands-on, or project based learning I can incorporate for maximum efficiency in the topic of the day!
