Fun Facts

Aside from my joy derived from tutoring, I am a professional ballet dancer! I dance with the Oakland Ballet Company so if I'm not helping students I'm most likely in the studio preparing for the Company's next shows! I also dabble in other styles of dance like contemporary, ballroom, and hip hop. I also love exploring foods and trying new things, so let me know what you enjoy and I'll give it a try!

About Me

I am a graduate of Pomona College as the Class of 2020. I majored in Chemistry and attained a minor in Mathematics. My capstone thesis project involved creating a computational model to describe electron movement across a molecular surface, relevant to artificial photosynthesis. I hope to balance improving my mind and body by dancing professionally while working towards post-graduate education.

Experience

I have been teaching for the majority of my life, be it tutoring and helping students with homework, performing assistant teacher responsibilities in Montessori schools, and coaching various style of dance. During college, I mentored my peers in topics pertaining to my academic interests (chemistry, math, Korean) and learned topics to teach those in need (English for non-native speakers). I would not have made it through courses without the help of my own mentors and hope to pay it forward here.

Approach

I've learned that my performance as a student was heavily dependent on my confidence in my work and I have seen that this is the case for many other students. Understanding this, I aim to fill in gaps in knowledge to boost the confidence and motivation of my students. I hope that my enthusiasm for learning and exploring reaches those I help so that they too aspire to achieve their goals and have the confidence to do so.
