Fun Facts
I am very passionate about art. I believe that art can be found in much of everything. Any time I have a chance, you will find me geeking out over the things I love and find interesting such as movies, books, or, you guessed it, art. I am the only child and the only left-handed member of my family. Although I was not blessed with musical talent, I absolutely love to sing, dance, and step. Someday soon, I hope to become a pediatrician and do research on child and adolescent development.
About Me
I am a graduate student finishing up my master's in medical science at Morehouse School of Medicine. I have always loved school and find joy and learning new things. When I graduate, I hope to attend medical school so that I can become the first black female physician in my family. My goal is to become a doctor but my passion is to medically serve underrepresented and disadvantaged minorities.
Experience
I have substantial experience working with kids. Mostly, I had the opportunity to teach or tutor in some way or fashion. I have taught science and technology during summer camps where we completed several fun and intriguing science experiments. I also was an art instructor while I was in college and a counselor at the YMCA. I tutored and assisted many students with their homework with a focus on math and reading. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to impact even more students!
Approach
In school, I always found school interesting, however when it came to sitting down and learning information I had to find my own way of being successful. I am a visual and auditory learner and it took me many approaches to find what worked for me. I also know that I would learn the information better if I had a teacher who was positive, encouraging, and organized. As a tutor, I make sure to not only teach them the content but also study skills that will help them become better learners.
