Fun Facts
Two of my biggest hobbies are playing games on PC/PS4. I also love photography, mainly in street and landscape photography.
About Me
I am a recent graduate. In May 2020, I graduated with my master's in public health. I am currently in a fellowship with Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE), and I am currently placed at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Experience
During my Master's program, I formally tutored classmates and other students in topics of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I have a degree in Biological Sciences and I minored in Chemistry as well. After receiving my Bachelor's degree, I worked for a company called Cognate Bioservices were I was able to use my knowledge as practical skills in that environment.
Approach
My approach with tutoring others is patience. I feel like some individuals need a minute to sit with the content to completely grasp the concept, and the classroom is usually not set up for that process to happen. I also like to make overarching concepts relatable to the individual. For example, if I am tutoring a student in math, but they are also a tennis player. I would tailor the concept in reference to tennis to help drive that specific concept home.
