Fun Facts
I grew up playing the violin, but didn't plan on studying music when I came to college - only to fall in love with Opera! I'm also a published author - although my work now is more research based, my very first publication was with Scholastic in the 4th grade, when my class and I wrote a book about the prairie!
About Me
I'm a graduate of the University of Southern California, with a BA in Health and Human Sciences with a focus in Sociology. I also have two minors, in Health Care and Musical Studies. I was part of the Thematic Option Honors Program, and I graduated with Honors in Sociology and as a Renaissance Scholar. I am now a First Year medical student at Temple University.
Experience
As a member of the National Honors Society, I tutored my peers on a weekly basis throughout my junior and senior years of high school. I then completed high school with an internship at a local elementary school as a teachers assistant. During my college career I have participated in and led multiple peer study groups and always try to make myself available to work collaboratively with my fellow students.
Approach
From a young age, I was interested in finding a career in medicine, but heavy-duty sciences like chemistry have never come naturally to me, and taking these classes repeatedly wore me down. But with the help of a tutor who could talk me through the thought processes of procedures I did not understand, I found myself on much stronger footing that I otherwise would have. My goal with tutoring is to give students a foundational understanding in a topic so they can apply their skills as the learn.
