Fun Facts

I have always been very creative and my interest in the arts has never ceased. I enjoy drawing and painting as well as poetry and creative writing. Therefore, I believe English and the arts are my forte. I also love watching movies, especially seeing my favorite books brought to life in film.

About Me

I am currently an Elementary Education major at Florida International University. I am almost a junior, my cumulative GPA is 3.912, and my Major GPA is 3.732. My plans are to get my bachelors and get a Masters in English or Spanish, I am still a bit undecided. I have been very lucky to have made the Dean's list three semesters in a row, which makes me really happy.

My passion is teaching, especially teaching younger children. I started miami">tutoring in after care programs in local elementary schools when I was in high school. When I started on my program for education I started to become exposed to how teaching is done in the classroom, and I have been able to assist teachers and students. I have also recently taught mini lessons for a kindergarten class. I have been able to assist mostly in kindergarten and second grade classes. Lastly, I have been miami">tutoring, but mostly homework coaching a third grade student. She has difficulties with speech and has ADHD so she needs my undivided attention and help at all times.

I would describe my miami">tutoring approach as being very patient with the student, getting to know them as fast as possible, in order to know what their learning styles are and how I can spend the time we spend together as efficiently as possible. I believe many times parents want miami">tutors to cover a lot of information in so little time and that just can't be the case for all children. I don't believe students benefit from rushing through things. I believe we must go step by step making sure they have adequate and sufficient knowledge of the foundation of a subject in order to move on to harder and more advanced aspects. In conclusion, I believe being patient and understanding is my approach.
