Fun Facts

I attend the University of Arizona on a full ride. I am a part of the Video Game Designer Club at the University, which is highly esteemed by the science/arizona/tucson">Computer Science department. I enjoy coding in the little spare time I have. Also I have climbed Picacho Peak numerous times and plan on doing it more. Lastly, I am a HUGE football and basketball fan.

About Me

I have quite a few goals to accomplish, but some of them are being the first one in my immediate and extended family to graduate from a University. After graduating I want to be hired as a software engineer. Afterwards when I retire I want to become a high school teacher in math/programming along with being the high school football coach. I chose this level because I want to help kids succeed and let them know there are multiple paths to take outside of high school. Some dreams I have are being able to travel to every single major city in the world along with attending a Super Bowl with the Arizona Cardinals playing (long shot I know).

Some of my past tucson">tutoring experience is actually on the field for USA Youth Sports. I was a referee for soccer and football along with coaching those very two sports as well. Just maintaining the 5 year olds attention was a feat by itself along with teaching them soccer and football. Some actual tucson">tutoring involves my fellow peers in high school in all of my math classes. Some more recent experience involves study groups being organized by some of my classmates and assisting each other whenever a stumbling block is hit.

My tucson">tutoring philosophy is quite simple! Of course I want to break the ice by getting to know the student first, it may change the way I approach them and tucson">tutor them. Most of the time though, I first ask the student to attempt a problem and have him/her explain why he/she are choosing these routes. Afterwards we go over the process to figuring out how to solve these type of questions. After we go over the topics, I have them attempt multiple problems (beginning-intermediate) until it is time to truly test their understanding. This test involves one challenge question that comes from one of my books or their book. These problems of course involve the process itself, but may need to be manipulated slightly. Nothing to confuse the student.
