About Me
I am currently a graduate student at Florida International University. My mastery is on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I hope to be a classroom teacher at entry-level colleges and make a positive impact on incoming students.
My experience in miami">tutoring was for about one and a half years working for H.I.G.H.E.R. Tutorial Services in Tallahassee, FL. I was focused on elementary level, one-on-one miami">tutoring for low-income students. One of the most rewarding experiences while miami">tutoring was when parents would happily show me their students' report cards that showed an upward climb in grades. They would thank me and I would feel very satisfied. I was also a miami">tutor for the writing lab at miami-dade-college">Miami Dade College. I feel like I made an impact in incoming students' lives. Frog miami">Tutoring is what I have been looking for.
My miami">tutoring approach is getting to know each student's learning style. Flexibility is important and as a teacher, I must be ready to adapt to how students learn. If a student can easily grasp math or reading concepts from a book, then that's great - if not, then I move on to illustrations or videos or whatever it takes. Additionally, I understand the importance of assessment and the role it plays in tracking student progress. While working with H.I.G.H.E.R. and miami-dade-college">Miami Dade College, I became familiar with tracking student progress.
