Fun Facts
As I have matriculated through school, I have rehearsed ballet at least 4 hours a day progressing to 8 hours a day in high school. I went to the performing arts high school in downtown Dallas, and continued in college at Howard University as a dancer for the basketball team. I also enjoy reading, journaling, sketching, and yoga! I am the middle child of 3 girls and I've lived in Dallas, since the age of 5.
About Me
I am currently a doctoral student at Parker University in North Dallas, studying chiropractic. Prior to that, I lived in Spain for 2 and 1/2 years teaching English as a second language, and traveling through Europe. Some of my ultimate career goals include opening my own chiropractic practice with a specialty in pediatrics and sports care.
Experience
While studying my bachelors of sports medicine at Howard University, I was a tutor/mentor at the Howard University Math and Science Middle School located on the main campus. As mentioned above I also taught English as a second language in Spain for 2 and 1/2 years where I picked up a strong level of conversational Spanish.
Approach
As a student, I always gravitated toward teachers who were willing to give detailed explanations about topics that were confusing to me without making me feel less intelligent than my peers. I pride myself on creating a learning environment where students feel confident in asking question so that they have a concrete understanding of the material we're learning. I also would like to act as a mentor as students matriculate through school.
