Fun Facts

I love the nature and whenever I find a free time, I go hiking or fishing at the beautiful nature of Oregon. I am terrible at navigation though! Without my GPS I could not even imagine going to new places. I also enjoy watching movies, listening to music, playing chess, and studying science.

About Me

I am a senior at portland-state-university">Portland State University majoring in Micro/Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I was on the president's and dean's list constantly except for a couple terms. I also have a BS in Physical Therapy from another country. I am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, a workshop leader for Organic Chemistry, and a learning assistant for Biology and Organic Chemistry. I currently volunteer as a research volunteer at PSU and OHSU. My career goal is to become a physician researcher.

Experience

I have lots of portland">tutoring experiences in three different countries and three different languages in a variety of subjects including Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, Biology, science/oregon/portland">Computer science, Religion and Philosophy, Ethics, MS Office, and Kinesiology. I am also a Peer Mentor for freshman students. However, I am highly experienced in portland">tutoring Chemistry and Biology. My students always show a great progress due to the method I use for teaching science.

Approach

Learning science can be a challenging task if done in a wrong way. To learn science in an effective way, a student needs to look at it as a way of thinking and try to see the big picture through understanding (not memorizing) the concepts. I help my students to understand concepts with minimum memorization while making a big picture in their minds to stabilize those understandings. When this approach combines with problem-solving and study skills, the outcome is outstanding.
