I am a down-to-earth, country gal that enjoys cooking and volunteering. My family is everything to me. I have a fat, furry and funny cat. I love all the different genres of music. Pink is my absolute favorite color and my Momma's meatloaf is by far the best food in the entire world.

About Me

I am a APRN and have been in nursing for the majority of my adult life. I started out as an STNA at 16 years old and gradually worked my way throughout the nursing chain. I currently am a nursing instructor at the collegiate level. I enjoy tutoring students that are interested in nursing.

Experience

I have mentored students throughout nursing school for over a decade from the beginning starting with the TEAS/HESI all the way to the NCLEX. I have tutored in a variety of subjects: anatomy and physiology, biology, study skills, pharmacology, dosage calculations, TEAS/HESI/NLN-PAX, NCLEX prep, ALL nursing courses from fundamentals through medical surgical and mental health. I also assist with evidence based practice research papers and case studies including APA formatting and proofreading.

Approach

Each student determines their own study pace and plan for learning. I have learned, as an educator, that each student is unique and what may work well for one student might not work for another. Whichever way you learn best, we will work together on how to utilize this method to your advantage. I use a unique approach to education. I help bring textbooks to life by taking complex ideas and breaking them down in a way that is easy to understand so that a student can apply them to the real world.
