Fun Facts

One really cool thing that I did was be second in command of the largest Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Battalion in the United States, the Francis Lewis High School Patriot Battalion. My rank was a Cadet Major and was in charge of organizing military ceremonies, brooklyn">tutoring schedules and drill competitions. I even participated in the Army Drum Corps Team as well as Drill Team.

About Me

I'm a Junior under the Macaulay Honors College located at brooklyn-college">Brooklyn College. I'm a Chemistry and Religious Studies dual-major on a Pre-Med Track. I've been a research intern at the Emergency Department of North Shore University Hospital and am currently an undergraduate laboratory assistant at a Biochemistry lab located at brooklyn-college">Brooklyn College. I"m also the Grand Treasurer of the Pi-Phi Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity located at brooklyn-college">Brooklyn College as well as the Head Acolyte of St. Gregorious Orthodox Church, Cherry Lane.

As a member of the Arista National Honor Society I tutored various students in high school concerning the subjects of Algebra I, Geometry and Chemistry I. I also had a job as a teacher's assistant at the Kuei Luck Enrichment Center in Flushing, NY where I would review the homework of the 20-30 middle school children I was in charge of and supervised them during their after-school activities. During my college years I continue to brooklyn">tutor students in Organic Chemistry I and many aspects of Organic Chemistry II.

As a brooklyn">tutor it's important to be encouraging. Even if the student doesn't get it right away doesn't mean you discourage them because of it. The student just might not be in the right environment of mindset to learn. That's why it's so important to make the material relate-able to the student so that they know the importance of it later on in life. A student will be far more motivated to study or know something if they knew that this is something that they're going to use later on. By encouraging them and motivating them by showing the true importance of knowledge a brooklyn">tutor can only teach a student but also inspire them to learn.
