Fun Facts
I'm a trivia enthusiast who watches Jeopardy! six nights a week, a chess intermediate who's studying to become an expert (fingers crossed), and a film buff who can name every Alfred Hitchcock film. I love engaging in creative pursuits, whether it's playing drums in a Teena Marie cover band or writing young adult novels.
About Me
I graduated from Temple University with a B.A. in English. After undergrad, I attended Arcadia University, where I graduated with an M.A. in English and a 3.98 GPA. After graduate school, I jumped right into teaching writing and literature at the university level.
Experience
I have eight years of experience teaching writing and literature at schools such as Arcadia University and Jefferson University. In addition to teaching writing, I have five years of experience teaching a seminar on women's comedic memoirs. I created my memoir seminar from scratch and am looking forward to designing more of my own literature courses in the future. In my courses, I require to students to have one-on-one meetings with me at least twice a semester.
Approach
I believe students learn best when they can connect classroom learning to their everyday lives. By showing students the practical benefits of being a good writer, I help students become passionate about writing, rhetoric, and literacy. I always encourage students to ask "so what?" if they don't see the value in what they're leaning.
