Fun Facts

I have a great passion for music. I have written music since I was about twelve years old and have had the awesome privilege to record music as one of my favorite hobbies. I love to incorporate music into almost anything I do whether it's cleaning or studying important information for school. I hope to utilize music in my own elementary school classroom as a way to connect with my students!

About Me

I am a senior education major at Texas Wesleyan. I plan to graduate with my bachelors in education this Fall as well as with my Masters in education next winter. I have been on the dean's list for two years in a row as well as received the Outstanding Student Award at Texas Wesleyan. I am also a youth pastor at First Church International as well as immensely involved in many ministries at my church. After I graduate, I hope to teach elementary students with experience in many grade levels.

Experience

As a member of Kappa Delta Phi as well as the Bilingual Education Student organization, I have gained an incredible amount wisdom and experience in what it takes to be an effective teacher. I have conducted more than 30 hours of field experience with elementary level students as well as worked two years as an early preschool teacher. I have always enjoyed working with young children and I am eager to enhance my experience and make an incredible impact on many students with Frog Tutoring!

Approach

As a struggling student in elementary school, I found it difficult to remain positive when learning new things as I became very frustrated. As an adult, I realized in times when I was most confident, I had a great support system in which provided encouragement and positivity. As a tutor, I wish to bring this same positivity and create a safe and optimistic learning environment to my students. My students should feel that it is okay to make mistakes and learn from them with confidence.
