Fun Facts

My hobby, oddly enough is going education. I love teaching, tutoring, counseling and coaching my students in criminal justice. I never thought I would be in the academia world to be honest. When I was 16 I told my mother that I hated school and I was going to join the military. 19 Years later here I am a doctor in criminal justice. I think I fell in love with the process of going to school all around. I would take up to 5 classes at once because it became second nature to me.

About Me

Currently, I instruct criminal justice at the University of the District of Columbia Community College and Southern New Hampshire University. I have instructed up to 150 students at once while at the same time managing and overseeing 5 courses. I never shy away from the moment and I am always looking to better myself. My next goal in life is to become a lawyer in international law focusing on immigration. I truly and deeply enjoy molding future criminal justice professionals.

Experience

I was security forces (military police) in the United States Air Force for 16 years. I have been working at UDC 3 years and at SNHU one year. I have instructed the following courses: Introduction to Criminal Justice , Juvenile Justice, Community Policing, Geo-Spatial Analysis, Dynamics of Human Relations, Contemporary Police Systems, Criminology I, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Behavior, Criminal Investigation, Cultural Awareness and Communication in Criminal Justice.

Approach

I believe in having a servant leadership style and placing the needs of students before my own. I know first hand the struggles of going to school, working, deploying and having a family all at the same time. I try to put myself in that person's shoes and then work with them on anything criminal justice related. In addition, when I started my education I failed miserably and it took me a couple of times to get it right. I had great mentors and I hope to be a mentor one day to others.
