I was a commercial fisherman for ten years before I decided to leave the sea & pursue a career in education. Best decision I've ever made! I really enjoy working with students & encouraging them to apply themselves to the best of their ability.

About Me

I am a certified teacher in the state of MA hoping to find a class of my own in the fall. In the meantime, I'd love to help your child brush up his or her reading & writing skills this summer. (English is my specialty, but I am comfortable tutoring other subjects on an Elementary & Middle school level, such as Math, Social Studies, and Science.)

Experience

I have been a daily substitute teacher for a school district in Massachusetts since February of 2021. I also tutored grades 1-5 for the Princeton Review many years ago after graduating college. This summer, I will be running a summer school program for several weeks in late July and early August, but I would love to find more work in the meantime!

Approach

I am extremely patient with children, and I try to make learning as fun as possible! (I'm something of a big kid myself.) Encouraging young minds is one of the best feelings in the world for me. I will tailor my approach & lesson plan to the individual needs of my students, and I'm willing to reach out to their teachers to identify areas of study that need improvement.
